While the Lake District is so named for its water features, it is so appealing due to the combination of mountains and lakes in close vicinity. Personally I like fell walking but only to the point where the view is at its best. I doubt I'll ever do every 'Wainwright' but some I'll do (or do halfway!) again and again. Autumn and winter are superb times to shoot the fells with the colours of the heather and - if you are lucky - some snow.
